In this particular piece, Tyler captures a child from the first family he met in Nepal. Tyler ended up staying for 6 weeks in Nepal to help repair damage in the village. The title: “Remind mum of this:”, is playing into the idea that as we all grow up and apart from our families, we tend to forget to say simple sayings, such as ‘I love you’, ‘I miss you’, or ‘thinking of you’. Tyler, through this painting, reminds us of our wholesome relationship with our mothers and parents, regardless of our age or where we are in life.

Artist’s Statement:
As a grown-up, when times get tough, I still remember to contact my mother and give into a sense of comfort with her, to remind her that we still share that same unconditional relationship we had when I was younger.
