‘Heading for the Waves’ is an original Sculpture by the German Artist, a part of the new Australian Surfer Series. Depicted with a surfboard, Neidhardt sculpts her clothes in a classic black. Capturing the carefree essence of said surfers, the girl appears to be mid-walk, stepping out in confidence as her hair is transformed from the wind.
The main focus of Stefan Neidhardt’s work is life-size female sculptures made from massive tree trunks – where he usually aims to be as realistic as possible. In contrast, his small-format female figures are mostly stylized and feature deliberately exaggerated body proportions.
