Prior to her return to painting aged 40, Safir lived under the many pressures of life: “I was a disciplined daughter, a spouse, a full-time mother and a professional in everything I did. I searched for others’ confirmation and I did not realise yet that this should come from within”. This beautiful original artwork captures the all to common catch phrase of one who, weighed down by the usual demands and challenges of life, longs for more that the status quo.
