This painting is part of an ongoing theme of Tara’s: ‘Sky Travellers’. Through these works, she strives to create a sense of great ease within abnormal circumstances. Similar to a ‘fish out of water’ sense, she masters this scenario and brings to it a deep sense of inner strength and a lightness of being.

This series features young women, in their own company, strong and determined and with an air of magic. Like they hold within a certain something that will carry them through whatever life throws at them or wherever they choose to go in the world. This particular painting shows a young woman who is so comfortable in the dissonant skies, that she has grown a ladder for legs. Lide a ‘sky-maid’ instead of a mer-maid.
