A few years ago, I persuaded the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra to stand in the shallows at Henley Beach and perform a surreal seaside symphony, as reference for a series of aqueous paintings. On the strength of that event, I later contacted the West Australian Symphony Orchestra, who were equally intrigued and willing to perform a similar symphony in the waters off North Cottesloe Beach. Here is one of the inspired paintings.
