When you look at the artwork up close, you see mostly abstract shapes; each shape filled with a whole range of colours. It’s as though every colour appears as a large pixel. The further away you step, the more photographic it appears, as the brain makes sense of the scene. My artwork provokes a unique experience, as the viewer observes how the brain processes the image. For example, the rock you see is made up of a whole lot of abstract shapes, vector shapes and shadows. Zakis hopes people connect with and interpret the artwork in a way that they like.
