Jane Aitken is one of the few ceramicists in Australia who use the Nerikomi or Neriage technique. This is a Japanese decorative process that involves creating hand coloured porcelain patterns by layering, distorting and compressing the clay. These intricately formed patterned slabs are then used to make vessels.
