Sculptor Geoff Bromilow has fashioned this tightly grained, rose-coloured timber into an object of strength and beauty. As an artist, Bromilow strives to draw out the natural shapes of the wood he uses rather than impose an overly realist approach to the sculpture process – for which he uses both mechanical and hand tools. River redgum is generally found along the banks of the Murray-Darling river system. This piece was sourced in the Adelaide Hills.
