A mother’s body is like a temple, nurturing and growing the unborn child. A miracle transpires as the embryo becomes a baby. Gail Stent’s photographs portray single subjects, in a quiet place away from other human beings, alone in sensory isolation, weightless and free in a vast underwater environment. Her subjects have reached a place where the world is temporarily forgotten, where, in the complete absence of sensory input, they reach a state of consciousness deep into the human mind.
Artist Statement: My photographs have a special meaning to me and they won’t be for sale indefinitely. My images are all limited editions as I feel that the art collector needs to know they are special offerings of my work to you – a unique piece of art.
