One day in 2019 the artist got the idea – after seeing a street concert of a violinist in Taipei, Taiwan – to create a painted violin sculpture. Besides, Esther lives in Maastricht, Netherlands – the city of the world-famous Andre Rieu – where she approached Martin Rijsemus the violin builder who looks after Rieu’s instruments. The violin builder advised the artist in her new venture.
Violins with their musical capacity appear regularly in Esther’s paintings underlining the lightheartedness of the artist’s approach.
